First Aid Training FAQs

What's the difference between EFAW and FAW, and which one do we need?

EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) covers basic emergency response in 1 day and suits small teams; FAW (First Aid at Work) is a 3-day course with broader clinical knowledge and is typically required by HSE for larger workplaces. We’ll help you determine which fits your staffing and regulatory needs.

Your certificates are valid across all your UK venues for the duration of their validity (typically 3 years). However, we recommend refresher training every 2 years to keep skills sharp, especially for staff rotation.

Yes, we deliver on-site courses for teams and groups — this reduces travel time and can be tailored to your specific environment (schools, events, warehouses, etc.). Contact us to discuss dates and team size.

You can book a Requalification First Aid course (1 day) closer to your expiry date to refresh skills and renew your certificate. We recommend booking 2–3 months before expiry to avoid gaps in cover.

While Paediatric First Aid is not legally mandatory, it’s highly recommended for anyone working with children and provides specific skills (recovery position for children, drowning response, choking differences) that standard First Aid doesn’t cover in depth.

You receive a hard-copy certificate on completion of the course — it’s yours to take away the same day. Certificates are issued under our awarding body and valid across the UK.

Absolutely. We offer flexible scheduling including weekends and evening sessions, and we can work around your peak times. Let us know your availability and we’ll find dates that work.

Our courses use scenario-based practice and case studies from actual incidents in venues like yours, so trainees learn responses that work in real situations — not just textbook theory. We include hands-on CPR, recovery position, and decision-making drills.
