Adventure Island is a high footfall, high trust environment at the heart of Southend seafront.
In April 2025, 1705 Consultancy designed and delivered Op Aurora, a full scale counter terrorism desktop exercise built specifically for Adventure Island.
This was not an off the shelf scenario. We wrote it from the ground up, shaped the injects and structured the decision making framework around realistic threat conditions aligned to Protect Duty expectations.
The exercise involved the full breadth of the organisation alongside partners, local businesses and the media. It tested evacuation, invacuation and lockdown decisions, casualty management, communication pathways and multi agency liaison, alongside behaviour detection and hostile reconnaissance identification.
Following the exercise, we delivered a structured debrief and comprehensive findings report. We remain engaged with Adventure Island, now progressing to a live multi agency exercise with emergency services.
