Bronze, silver and gold command, JESIP and crisis communication training that works under real pressure
1705 Consultancy delivers incident command training for events, venues and organisations that look after the public. Our courses follow the same command structure and doctrine as the emergency services (bronze, silver and gold, JESIP and the Joint Decision Model), adapted for event control rooms, venues and boardrooms. Every course is certified by 1705 Consultancy and delivered by former emergency services commanders who have led incidents under real conditions.

Two days, two assessed live exercises. Declare and run an incident using JESIP, METHANE and CSCATTT, through to a marauding terrorist attack and police handover.

Two days of tactical command in one continuous scenario. Audit your own decision log, write a witness statement and defend your decisions at an inquiry style panel.

An executive programme for chief executives, directors and Martyn's Law designated senior individuals. Set strategy, lead a gold group and make decisions that stand up to scrutiny. Maximum 12 delegates.

Half a day, in person or online. The JESIP principles, the Joint Decision Model and what the emergency services will need from your control room.

Half a day, in person or online. Record decisions and rationale in real time so they stand up at a debrief, inquest or inquiry.

Two days with a media expert from emergency reporting. Plan the first hour, write holding statements and train your spokespeople on camera.
Bronze is operational command: leading the response on the ground or in event control. Silver is tactical: deciding how the response is delivered and directing the bronze commanders. Gold is strategic: setting the overall aim, protecting the organisation and leading recovery. We run a two day course for each level.
Supervisors, control room staff and duty managers usually start with Bronze Commander. Managers who lead the response go on Silver Commander, and directors and senior leaders on Strategic (Gold) Crisis Command. JESIP for Events and Venues suits everyone who may work with the emergency services.
M/ETHANE is the model the emergency services use to share information about an incident: Major incident declared, Exact location, Type of incident, Hazards, Access, Number of casualties and Emergency services present and required. Using it from your control room speeds up the response.
The Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles are how police, fire and ambulance work together at a major incident. The five principles are co-locate, communicate, co-ordinate, jointly understand risk and shared situational awareness, supported by the Joint Decision Model.
Every course is certified by 1705 Consultancy and delivered by former emergency services commanders who have led incidents under real conditions. Crisis Communication and Media Training is delivered by a media expert with experience of emergency reporting and mainstream media.
JESIP for Events and Venues and Decision Logging and Loggist Training can be delivered in person or online. The command and crisis communication courses are delivered in person, because the exercises work best face to face.
Yes. Martyn’s Law expects premises and events to have procedures that work in an emergency and, at the enhanced tier, a senior individual responsible for compliance. Our command courses train the people who will lead those procedures, and the gold course is designed for that senior role.
Yes. Every command course includes a tabletop exercise. For multi agency live exercises, tabletop exercises and debriefs for your own site, see our Emergency Procedures training.
