JESIP Training for Events and Venues
A half day course that shows event and venue teams how the emergency services work together at a major incident, and how to work with them. Delegates learn the JESIP principles, the Joint Decision Model and M/ETHANE, and what police, fire and ambulance commanders will expect from your control room. In person or online for groups.
Course Overview
The Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) are how police, fire and ambulance services work together at a major incident. Every blue light commander is trained in them. The event and venue teams they arrive to meet usually are not.
This course closes that gap. It explains the five JESIP principles (co-locate, communicate, co-ordinate, jointly understand risk and shared situational awareness), the Joint Decision Model, and how to pass a clear M/ETHANE report. It then shows how those principles apply at your event or venue: who goes to the forward command point, what information the emergency services need from event control, and how your command structure fits alongside theirs.
It finishes with a short scenario so delegates can practise passing information and making joint decisions. The free JESIP awareness eLearning is a useful starting point, and this course applies it to the way your site actually runs.
This course is part of our command pathway: Event Control and Bronze Command, Silver Event Command and Strategic (Gold) Crisis Command, supported by JESIP for Events and Venues.
About the Trainer
Certified by 1705 Consultancy and delivered by former emergency services commanders who have led incidents under real conditions, not just studied them. 1705 Consultancy also provides event command and safety management on live events, so the course reflects how incidents actually unfold in a control room and on the ground.
