Course Overview

A plan that has never been tested is an assumption. A tabletop exercise is the quickest and lowest risk way to find out whether your emergency plans work: your team talks through a developing incident, makes the decisions they would make for real, and the gaps show up in a room rather than on the day.

We design every exercise around your premises, your plans and your people. Scenarios can cover a fire, medical emergency, crowd problem, suspicious item, lockdown, attack or loss of power, and are built to test the procedures you need under Martyn’s Law: evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication.

How it works. A short planning call to agree objectives and scope, a scenario written for your site, then the exercise itself, run by experienced facilitators who release new information as the incident develops. Every exercise ends with a structured debrief, followed by a full written report covering what worked, what did not and what to change.

  • Half day: a focused exercise testing one plan or one type of incident.
  • Full day: a longer, multi phase scenario that tests several plans, escalation and recovery, ideal for management teams and multi site organisations.

This is one of our emergency procedures services: Tabletop Exercises, Evacuation Drills, Invacuation and Lockdown, Bomb Threat and Suspicious Item Procedures, Multi Agency Live Exercises and Debriefs and Lessons Identified. If you need the plans themselves written or reviewed, see our Emergency Plans consultancy.
