Course Overview

Evacuation is the procedure most organisations think they have covered, and the one that most often fails in practice: exits blocked or locked, staff unsure of their role, assembly points in the wrong place, people with additional needs left behind, or no way to account for everyone. A properly observed drill finds those problems before a real emergency does.

We work with you to plan a drill that fits your site and your operation, from a simple timed drill for staff to a full evacuation with visitors. On the day our team observes at key points, times each stage, checks routes, exits, marshals and assembly, and records what actually happened.

The drill finishes with a debrief while it is fresh, followed by a written report with timings, observations and recommendations. It gives you evidence that your evacuation procedure has been tested, which Martyn’s Law and your fire and health and safety duties expect.

This is one of our emergency procedures services: Tabletop Exercises, Evacuation Drills, Invacuation and Lockdown, Bomb Threat and Suspicious Item Procedures, Multi Agency Live Exercises and Debriefs and Lessons Identified. If you need the plans themselves written or reviewed, see our Emergency Plans consultancy.
