Securing and Monitoring Public Events: QNUK Level 2 Award (RQF)
A one day regulated qualification for staff who secure and watch over public events. It covers entry point security and search, monitoring crowds and perimeters, spotting hostile reconnaissance and suspicious activity, and reporting what they see so it can be acted on.
Course Overview
Most attacks and serious incidents at public events are preceded by warning signs: someone testing an entry point, watching security routines or behaving out of place in a crowd. Staff who know what to look for, and who report it clearly, are one of the strongest protections an event has.
This qualification is part of QNUK’s Venue Security and Safety suite. It sits between SIA licence linked training and the spectator safety qualifications, giving frontline staff recognised knowledge for the job they actually do at events and venues. It is not an SIA licence qualification.
The course is delivered at your venue or event site and uses your layout, entry points and reporting routes. Learners sit a multiple choice exam at the end of the day.
About the Trainer
Delivered by 1705 Consultancy, a QNUK approved centre, and led by Rob Brettell, a former Essex Police Detective Inspector with 23 years’ service. Rob works as a safety adviser and commander at live events, so the training is built on how incidents really unfold at venues and festivals, not just the theory.
