Maritime SAFE prepares individuals and organisations to recognise, understand and respond to the safety and security challenges associated with working, travelling or operating in maritime environments. From ports, vessels and coastal locations through to piracy, armed robbery, stowaways, hostile activity and emergency disruption, the course builds confidence, awareness and practical decision making.
Course Overview
Maritime environments present a unique combination of risks. Ports, vessels, anchorages, coastal locations and offshore movements can create vulnerabilities that differ significantly from land based travel or workplace settings. These risks may include piracy, armed robbery, terrorism, stowaways, smuggling, theft, civil unrest, cyber enabled disruption, severe weather, medical emergencies and communication challenges.
Maritime SAFE provides practical and proportionate training for individuals and organisations who work in, travel through or support maritime environments. The course helps learners understand how maritime risks develop, how to recognise warning signs and how to make safer decisions before, during and after movement by sea.
The programme supports improved preparedness, stronger situational awareness and more confident response to disruption, while remaining grounded in current maritime security expectations and international best practice.
About the Trainer
Delivered by 1705 Consultancy as a licensed SAFHEE® Delivery Provider. SAFHEE® (Security Awareness in Fragile and Hostile Events and Environments) is a registered training standard owned by Comera Risk Ltd and trusted by organisations that send people to volatile locations worldwide.

It is part of the SAFHEE® family of courses owned by Comera Risk Ltd and delivered by 1705 Consultancy as a licensed SAFHEE® Delivery Provider. You receive a certificate on successful completion.
Delegates must be 18 or over and able to take part in practical sessions. Some advanced courses require a SAFE course to have been completed first, so ask us if you are unsure.
