Course Overview

The SAFE/1 Course has been designed for personnel requiring a deeper level of hostile environment awareness, operational resilience and personal security capability when operating in higher threat regions or unstable environments.

Building on the wider SAFHEE® methodology, SAFE/1 focuses heavily on operating profiles, movement and transition awareness, targeted attack recognition, hostile actor response, behavioural threat assessment and operating safely in environments where criminality, unrest, kidnap, indirect fire, armed threats or hostile events may occur.

Delegates are introduced to practical operational concepts including maintaining a low profile, recognising environmental baselines, identifying anomalies, reducing vulnerability during transitions and understanding how movement between locations often creates the greatest exposure to risk.  The course also explores practical survival considerations surrounding vehicle attacks, checkpoints, indirect fire, IED awareness, protective positioning, hostile movement and emergency reactional responses.

Through immersive discussion, practical drills, realistic scenarios and expert instruction, delegates develop confidence, awareness and the ability to make calm, informed and proportionate decisions under pressure.  The course also introduces understanding of close protection team procedures, hostile environment PPE, armoured vehicle awareness, helicopter safety considerations and emergency movement under hostile conditions.

Delivered in partnership with Comera Risk, SAFE/1 represents advanced hostile environment preparation for organisations and personnel operating where standard travel awareness alone is no longer sufficient.
