I’ve knocked on doors with the worst news a family will ever hear.  I’ve stood in living rooms where time stopped and in control rooms where seconds mattered. Those moments shape everything I do.  They are why 1705 Consultancy exists: to stop preventable harm, to make sure your people get home, and to give you the confidence to look a family in the eyes knowing you did everything humanly possible.

1705 is not just a name; it is my old police collar number.  It reminds me that safety is a duty, not a slogan.  My background spans through family liaison and senior investigator roles, major and critical incident leadership, and most recently expert witness work.  I have planned and commanded when the stakes were highest, using JESIP and METHANE principles to bring order to chaos.  That lived trauma and calm leadership sit at the heart of our approach: human-centred, plain-English and evidence-based.

We don’t do theory for theory’s sake.  We listen to your context, assess your risks with clarity, and turn them into plans people can follow when it’s loud, messy and frightening.  We prepare you for all legislative requirements including the forthcoming Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty) with terrorism and safety risk assessments built on a thorough and totally unique evidence based and totally compliant 14-attack-type risk assessment model.  We help you choose proportionate measures and we document what you do so you are inspection-ready.  Most of all, we make compliance human and workable, because paperwork alone does not save lives—people do.

Training is where confidence is built.  Our partnership with Comera-based SAFEE™️ help teams spot early indicators and make better decisions under pressure keeping them totally safe when home or abroad.  First aid and de-escalation courses turn good intentions into muscle memory.  Short, realistic exercises and straight debriefs embed learning, reduce hesitation and raise standards through all of our training.  This is not box-ticking.  It is a culture of care, clarity and accountability.

Preparation is kinder than recovery and cheaper than reputational repair.  Waiting for a headline is not a strategy.
