SAFE SCHOOLS COURSE

Description

SAFE Schools provides the foundation for personal safety and security against unforeseen events. The course is underpinned with industry best practice for conflict management and situational awareness for young persons. The skills and knowledge gained through the session provides reassurance for managing conflict, avoiding risks and developing positive actions when faced with danger.


SAFE Schools recognises the growing concerns around safety and security of young people. We at Comera want to offer a product to better equip those at schools, colleges and university with the confidence, skills and knowledge for enjoying life and independence; equally recognising the worries parents and guardians have, to reassure and equip them with practical solutions and common sense skills, gained from the session attended.


Contextual teaching and learning will offer context to protect against threats and unknown hazards, thereby developing skills and knowledge to help mitigate the risks of everyday life. Learners develop a range of skills including situational awareness and conflict management in response to potential threats such as bullying mugging, common assault or coercion for negative gain. Delivered in a friendly and age appropriate way for young people aged 11+.

Education Sector: Schools, Colleges, Universities, Youth Groups, Local Authority and Individuals.

This course provides the base knowledge for personal safety and security anywhere in the UK. Ideal for those age 11+, up to young adults looking for reassurance. Equally meeting the needs of youth organisations, groups and education providers who have a responsibility and duty for providing a safe and secure environment for those under their care, including the travel from and to!

What's involved?

This is a learner centred course delivered face-to-face, and comprising of 1 guided learning hours. Delivery offers theoretical and practical solutions to provide context for all learning outcomes. Each outcome designed and structured to assist individuals for the challenges they may face.

Pre-requisite:

Learners must be a minimum of 11 years of age and no more than 25 years.

For organisations, groups and education providers there should be no more than 60 learners per session. Each session is a total of one hour long. There should be a minimum of two sessions but no more than five sessions per day.

What's Included?

The course can be delivered in the following format:


  • One to two one hour sessions – £500 + VAT
  • Three to four one hour sessions – £650 + VAT
  • Five one hour sessions – £750 + VAT

These are supplement to our SAFE Schools course.

  • Personal Protection – Personal Protection is a tailored in-house product, that provides simple but effective self-defence training. Techniques are taught that are logical simple solutions pressure tested to simulate context to evade and escape.
  • SAFE Business (Lockdown Drills) – There are serious dangers out there in the world and knowing how to implement lockdown measures (Shelter in Place) will prepare you to face a lockdown in real-time. The course will provide a wealth of information on possible threats, communication measures and lockdown responsibilities. You will learn about lockdown in a work setting and what protocols to put in place in such a situation. SAFE Business offers business due-diligence to provide training for employees in the event of a terrorist attack. The course develops the self-serving skills needed to manage self to safety during a terrorist attack. Aligning with business requirements to address their responsibility under the ‘Protect Duty’.   • Lockdown Drills – There are serious dangers out there in the world and knowing how to implement lockdown measures (Shelter in Place) will prepare you to face a lockdown in real-time. The product implements a practice lockdown and monitors the actions and efficiency of an organisation and how they respond to possible threats. In addition a report is provided with recommendations.
  • Protect Duty Consulting – A consulting service which considers the new legislation ‘Protect Duty’ to provide solutions and responses to minimise risk in the event of a terrorist attack.
